International French test (TFI)

The International French Test (TFI) assesses and certifies the ability of non-French speakers to communicate in French in a professional context and in international exchanges. Standardized test, giving reliable scores whatever the version of the test, it measures French skills according to a continuous scale of scores.

The UdeM, among others, requires the TFI to non-French speakers to study in French.

ALC montréal works in partnership with ETS Canada and allows students who have completed a training in French or special TFI to pass the official TFI on its premises.

ALC Montreal offers a closing date per month at the end of course preparation at the TFI.

  • Due to COVID-19, ALC no longer offers a paper test like the TFI. momentarily.
  • The alternative to enter a university or a higher school is to take the academic TEF or TEF UdeM.
