CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION AND PASSING
(Applicable to all versions of the French Evaluation Test)
Special features during the COVID-19 pandemic:
1- The CCIP agrees to postpone the date of the test once (1) only

Ability to read simple sentences written in French
By registering for the French Evaluation Test, the candidate is aware that he will have to read simple sentences written in French and he certifies that he is able to do so.
Registration for TEF Canada
To register for TEF Canada, the candidate must register during the same session:
- the written comprehension, oral comprehension, written expression and oral expression tests of the French evaluation test if he wishes to file an immigration file with the federal government;
- to the oral comprehension and oral expression tests of the French evaluation test if he wishes to submit a file for access to citizenship.
Identity Verification
On the day of the session, the candidate communicates to the approved centre, for verification purposes, an identity document with photo and agrees to be photographed by staff from the approved centre, to sign his presence for the tests and to be recorded during the speaking test. In the case of the TEF for Canada, the identity document corresponds to the document presented at the time of the candidate's registration and to the one that will be used in the context of immigration procedures or access to citizenship in Canada. . The photo and one of the signatures collected will appear on the candidate's results certificate. If another person attempts to impersonate the candidate, this is considered fraud which may result in that person being expelled from the test room and the registered candidate being barred from taking the Assessment Test again. of French.
The candidate accepts after the session, in case of need for verification by the CCI Paris Ile-de-France, to copy a text in writing and to be recorded during an oral interview or to pass one or more
verification tests. In the event of refusal, the CCI Paris Ile-de-France may not issue a certificate of results and the candidate will not be able to claim a refund of his registration.
Special case of TEF Express: TEF Express is not affected by these terms. No photo or signature will be requested from the candidate, but he is informed that his results will only be valid if he takes the test in person, without outside help and without using other media (electronic, textual) than those offered by handover tool.
Change in marital status
When signing his presence for the tests, the candidate checks the spelling of his surname and first name as well as the date of birth corresponding to his registration. It indicates at this time any possible error.
If the requested modification shows that the candidate has already passed one of the tests within a period less than or equal to 30 days preceding the session, the certificate of results will not be published and the candidate will not be able to claim a refund of his registration. . The Paris Ile-de-France CCI will not subsequently make any changes not reported on the day of the test and no corrections can be made once the certificate of results has been communicated. The candidate respects the organization instructions of the approved examination centre. He does not use any personal material (unless expressly authorized by the CCI Paris Ile-deFrance for candidates requiring an adaptation of the conditions of the award), does not store, reproduce by any means whatsoever and does not communicate any test material, does not does not seek to communicate with the other candidates during the tests, to access their answers or to allow them to access their answers.
In the event of serious misconduct on the part of a candidate (if he disrupts the administration of the test, if he continues to copy on another candidate despite an initial warning, if he communicates or attempts to communicate with other candidates , etc.), he is liable to immediate dismissal from the examination room.
In the event of attempted fraud or proven fraud, the candidate will not receive a certificate of results for the TEF, will not be able to claim a refund of his registration and will no longer be able to take the TEF.
Delivery of results
The only valid results are those of the certificate of results published by the CCI Paris Ile-de-France at the end of the processing of the session. Only the results of the tests in which the candidate is registered for the session appear on the certificate of session results. This certificate is only published if the candidate has taken the tests and there has been no anomaly noted during the course of the session and during the processing of the answers. It is valid for a period of two years from the date of publication of the certificate.
When it deems it necessary, the CCI Paris Ile-de-France carries out verifications of the documents of the session, which may lead, for some candidates, to an additional delay in the issuance of the results certificates. If a certificate of results is published but the CCI Paris Ile-de-France finds a posteriori that there were irregularities surrounding the passing or the correction of the tests, it is authorized to refer to the ministerial authorities with which the candidate may seek to assert its certificate of results.
Special case of the TEF Express: no official certificate will be given to the candidate, only an email mentioning his results will be sent to him.
Registration cancellations and deferrals
All registration is firm and definitive, except in the event of cancellation of registration by the CCI Paris Ile-de-France. In the event of unjustified absence or abandonment, the candidate is not reimbursed, either by the approved center or by the CCI Paris Ile-de-France.
Observance of the waiting period
The candidate cannot present the same test of the French assessment test twice, all versions combined, within 30 days. If the candidate contravenes this rule, his registration will be cancelled.
Special case of TEF Express: the waiting period is 6 months between two awards.
Attempted fraud
In the event of fraud, falsification or disruption of the smooth running of the test session noted by the prescriber, the approved test center or the CCI Paris Ile-de-France, sanctions are taken by the disciplinary commission of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France.
For the candidate, the sanction may consist, depending on the type of fraud or falsification, in cancellation of the test or possibly of the certificate issued, and/or in a ban on taking the test for a period set by the commission. The decision of the disciplinary commission is communicated to the fraudulent candidate, to the approved examination center and to the prescriber.
Appeal request
In the event of an anomaly or serious malfunction during the handover, the candidate has the possibility of filing an appeal with the Français des affaires. A candidate may make a request for appeal within a maximum period of 30 days from the date of publication of the certificate of results.
The appeal request is free. The candidate must connect to his User account where he will be offered to submit an application. It is processed within 30 days of receipt of the request.
The request is processed by Le français des affaires, which checks with the approved center and thanks to the recordings of the oral expression test, the conditions of award and the legitimacy of the appeal. In the event of a serious anomaly or malfunction noted by Le français des affaires, the candidate is offered the opportunity to retake all the tests free of charge.
Once the appeal procedure has started, the candidate's old scores, and therefore his certificate, are definitively cancelled, regardless of the new results.
Personal data
The personal data communicated by the candidate (surname, first name, date of birth, photo, signature, answers to the test and test results, email address, number and nationality of the identity document) are collected and kept by the CCI Paris Ile -de-France for a period of 10 years.
If the required TEF Canada level is obtained, the candidate's data is made accessible to the Canadian authorities. If the candidate objects to this transmission or if he modifies or deletes data, his immigration or citizenship application may not be processed by the Canadian authorities. Data transmitted to Canadian authorities will be processed and stored in accordance with Canadian law.
In general, personal data is accessible by the government authorities of the countries concerned which use the French evaluation test within the framework of an immigration program or access to citizenship as soon as a candidate
submits a certificate of results within the framework of an administrative procedure concerning them.
In accordance with the amended Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978 and Regulation (EU) 2016-679 on data protection and within the framework and limits set by these texts, the candidate may exercise his right of access to data on concerning and have them rectified or erased by contacting tef@cci-paris-idf.fr or, in the event of difficulty, the data protection officer at the address: cpdp@cci-paris-idf.fr.
